LINGAYEN --- Presidential Anti-Smuggling Group Chief Antonio “Bebot” Villar, Jr. praised Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. for his simultaneous implementation of projects aimed at improving the economy of Pangasinan that would deserve to be called premier province.
In his recent visit, Undersecretary Villar, along with other businessmen, were surprised to see the transformation happening at the Capitol compound in Lingayen.
They were awed at Gov. Espino’s dedication in turning the Capitol, the seat of governance, into a premier tourist destination marked by elegant buildings and courteous and efficient employees.
According to Villar, the impressive projects and effective local governance under the Espino administration gives him a “sense of pride” being a native of Sto. Tomas, Pangasinan.
He added that in his long service as mayor of Sto. Tomas, Pangasinan, it is only under the Espino administration that he saw such remarkable accomplishments in just a short span of time, noting that no past governors had done such things.
In the meantime, Villar appealed to Espino’s critics to instead cooperate with the provincial government in reviving the once vibrant economy of Pangasinan.
He warned the detractors to stop from hurling destructive criticism if it will not bring anything good for the province.
Villar urged them to look at Gov. Espino’s programs as a whole which is designed to bring our province to unprecedented success instead of magnifying his small shortcomings.
In a recent media forum, Urdaneta City Mayor Amadeo Perez also hailed Gov. Espino giving him a high rating of 95 percent.
“Overall, the governor is doing a good job in Pangasinan.
Meanwhile, League of Municipalities of the Philippines National President, Binalonan Mayor Ramon Guico, Jr. defended Gov. Espino on the issue about jueteng.
“The jueteng problem is none of Gov. Espino’s fault. (PIO/Ninia F. Nicolas)
