“LAKAD PANGASINAN . . . . .Malinis Na Halalan!”

In line with the coming election in May, the Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan invites Pangasinanenses to take part as Pangasinan walks for a clean, honest, accurate, meaningful and peaceful (CHAMP) elections on Saturday, April 17.

The activity dubbed ”Lakad Pangasinan. . . Malinis Na Halalan!” will be held at the Don Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center here starting with a Eucharistic Celebration at six o’clock in the morning with Most Rev. Socrates B. Villegas, Archbishop of Lingayen-Dagupan as the officiating priest.

Archbishop Villegas said the event is a response to the call of times for an even greater involvement of the Church in the mission of social transformation according to the spirit of the Gospel.

The covenant for CHAMP Election will follow after the Walk at the Capitol Plaza after which a General Assembly for the members of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) will be conducted at the Sison Auditorium now the Cultural and Heritage Center of the North.

Towards this end, Gov. Amado Espino, Jr. called on all Pangasinenses including provincial officials and barangay heads to join the province and the in its crusade for a peaceful and orderly conduct of the May election even as he made the appeal not only to the incumbent officials but to all electoral candidates, as well.

Gov. Espino also lauded the Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan for their efforts of helping the province come up with a peaceful conduct of election.
The Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan, on the other hand, has advised participants to the affair to wear White to show their love for God and country.(PIO/Angeline D. Villanueva)
