Insuring senior citizens’ health

A senior citizen (left) expresses her deepest thanks to Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. (right) for the PhilHealth cards being distributed to indigent families in Balungao. The Governor assured all poor Pangasinenses to receive health insurance so that they will no longer fear to seek medical care due to high prices of medicines. The massive enrollment of indigents to PhilHealth resulted to an increase of number of patients availing the health services of government-owned hospitals with a range of 914 to 4,706 patients per hospital recorded for 2009. With the Governor are Provincial Population Officer Luzviminda Muego and Executive Asst. Ramon Morden. (PIO Photo by Bob Sison)
